Privacy Policy

The Global African Diaspora is an educational digital museum. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Most of the experience can be enjoyed without sharing any personal information. When you interact with the site, we may collect:

• Language preference, so the museum can greet you in English, French, or Spanish.
• Passport progress and visited pages, stored locally on your device to personalize your journey.
• Audio preferences such as mute state and volume level.
• Messages you choose to send to the AI Guide, processed to generate helpful responses.

We use collected information only to operate and improve the museum experience: remembering your progress, restoring audio settings, responding to guide questions, and understanding which exhibits visitors find most engaging.

The site uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences and progress between visits. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Conversations with the AI Guide are processed by a language model service. Please do not share sensitive personal information. Conversations may be reviewed anonymously to improve answer quality.

This museum is designed for learners of all ages, including students and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us so we can remove it.

The site may load fonts from Google Fonts and host media from secure cloud storage. These services may receive standard technical data such as your IP address and browser type.

You can clear your stored preferences and progress at any time using your browser settings. You can also mute audio using the global audio controls.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the museum grows. The latest version will always be available on this page.
